The Grand Commander of the Order of Malta, Fra’ Ludwig Hoffmann von Rumerstein, bestowed the Cross of Merit of the Order on Mr. Hans Jurgen Haller, who has been production manager at the Rome offices of ARD, the major German TV network since 1974. The well-attended ceremony included H.E. Theodor Wallau, German Ambassador to the Holy See, and Dr. Michael Weitschek, official of the German network.

As production manager, Jurgen Haller has personally supervised many programmes dealing with the activities of the Order of Malta and was recently involved in the production of a 30 minute TV documentary on the celebrations for the 9th Centennial of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. Mr. Haller and his production team followed the Grand Master’s visit to Cuba and supervised television coverage during the Holy Year in Rome.
