During the first half of the year, Ordre de Malte France signed four new framework agreements with French and foreign institutional partners, associations and business foundations.
– Ordre de Malte France and the Ministry of Health of Morocco have drawn up a new agreement under which the existing healthcare initiatives are extended to training health practitioners.
– In renewing the cooperation agreement entered into with Service d’Aide Médicale Urgente’ (SAMU) – the French Medical Emergency Response Center – the Ordre de Malte France and SAMU social international have agreed to set up a healthcare programme for street children in Dakar (Senegal). The sick or injured children will be admitted to the Order of Malta’s new hospital centre (CHOM) in Dakar, inaugurated last April.
– The Order of Malta’s hospital centre in Dakar, Senegal has signed a collaboration agreement with the German association Deutsche Lepra und Tuberkulosehilfe for advanced leprosy screening in remote villages.
– Finally, thanks to financial support from the L’Occitane Foundation, the Ordre de Malte France has developed a project aiming to improve the quality of vision achieved through cataract surgeries in two cities in Burkina Faso (Ouagadougou and Bobo Dioulasso). In collaboration with the University Hospital, ophthalmologists perform operations while volunteers of the Ordre de Malte France identifty patients and bring them to the Hospital.
