For the second year running, the Covid-19 pandemic has meant that the Lourdes Sanctuary will be unable to host the Order of Malta’s traditional international pilgrimage, to the great sorrow of all those who would have participated from all over the world.
Thanks to an extraordinary initiative of the Lourdes Sanctuary and its priests, the Order of Malta’s great family will once again be united in prayer before the Grotto.
On Saturday, 1 May – the day on which the Order of Malta’s Eucharistic Procession was scheduled – Holy Masses will be celebrated in five languages at the Massabielle Grotto for the intentions of Our Lords the Sick, members and volunteers of the Order of Malta.
This is the schedule for the masses and their television broadcast (local Lourdes time):
- 08:30 am Holy Mass in Italian (broadcast on TV Lourdes, TV2000 and KTO)
- 10:00 am Holy Mass in French (broadcast on TV Lourdes and KTO)
- 11:15 am Holy Mass in Polish (broadcast on TV Lourdes and KTO)
- 04:30 pm Holy Mass in Spanish (broadcast on TV Lourdes and KTO)
- 05:15 pm Holy Mass in English (broadcast on TV Lourdes and KTO)
- 06:45 pm Holy Mass in German (broadcast on TV Lourdes and KTO)
Followed in the afternoon by the recitation of the Holy Rosary in the various languages, at (local Lourdes time):
- 02:30 pm Rosary in Polish (broadcast on TV Lourdes and KTO)
- 03.00 pm Rosary in English (broadcast on TV Lourdes and KTO)
- 03:30 pm Rosary in French (broadcast on TV Lourdes and KTO)

At the end of the virtual pilgrimage proposed by the Sanctuary, the Pontifical Mass from the Basilica of Saint Pius X is scheduled for Sunday, 2 May.
