Today the Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the United Nations in New York, Paul Beresford–Hill, exchanged notes with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Lesotho to the United Nations, Nkopane Monyane, to open diplomatic relations with the African country. Lesotho becomes the 37th African country with whom the Order of Malta enjoys diplomatic ties.
After the announcement of the opening of diplomatic relations with the Hellenic Republic last Friday, 3 December, the number of countries with whom the Sovereign Order of Malta exchanges full diplomatic relations rises to 112.
