Signed today in Rome was the memorandum of understanding between the Sovereign Order of Malta and the Institute of Anthropology of the Pontifical Gregorian University to sponsor the protection and welfare of minors and vulnerable persons.
The agreement – signed in Villa Malta, seat of the Institute of Anthropology of the Pontifical Gregorian University – promotes measures to prevent abuse of minors and vulnerable persons, encouraging the implementation of good practices and raising awareness around safeguarding issues.
Present for the Order of Malta was the Grand Hospitaller, Fra’ Alessandro de Franciscis: “The agreement signed today is the starting point of a comprehensive programme of initiatives of listening and of training our members, volunteers and employees, to safeguard those we assist and all minors and vulnerable people.”
“This Memorandum of Understanding cooperation will help to centralize the care and protection of minors, in conjunction with the Order of Malta’s many important health and welfare activities,” said Mark A. Lewis S.J, Rector of the Pontifical Gregorian University.
