The Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta, Fra’ Giacomo Dalla Torre del Tempio di Sanguinetto, has sent a letter of congratulations to Monsignor Angelo Becciu, the Pope’s Special Delegate to the Order, as well as Substitute for General Affairs in the Secretariat of State. Pope Francis announced that Monsignor Becciu will be created cardinal in the consistory convened for 29 June. The announcement arrived yesterday at the end of the Regina Coeli prayer in front of over 30 thousand faithful.

“I would like to extend the heartfelt congratulations of the Grand Magistry, and my own personal congratulations, for your imminent elevation to cardinal, assuring you of our prayers for fruitful work in the service of the Holy See,” the Grand Master wrote to Monsignor Becciu.
