On Friday, March 17, the Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Ukraine Antonio Gazzanti Pugliese di Cotrone held a working meeting with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klimenko. During the meeting, the Ambassador brought to the attention of the Minister the activities that the Order of Malta has been deploying in Ukraine since 1991, when it began intensively providing a variety of assistance to the weaker population groups.
The humanitarian aid distributed by the Order of Malta’s relief corps in Ukraine in more than 65 cities in the country was outlined.
Minister Klymenko expressed his appreciation and reiterated his long-standing support of the work of the Order. Ambassador Gazzanti Pugliese di Cotrone assured the Order of Malta’s willingness in supporting training of specialists in psychological rehabilitation. In many parts of Ukraine the Order of Malta has assisted nearly 9.000 people thanks to the specialized units with over 130 trained psychologists it deployed in the country.
In addition, three medical mobile units are now operating in the country to bring assistance to children in need.
