Argentine Foreign Affairs Minister Felipe Carlos Solá was received by Grand Chancellor Albrecht Boeselager at the Magistral Palace on 1st July 2021.
The talks focussed on the situation in Central and South America, the problems in exiting the Covid-19 pandemic, also due to the scarcity of vaccines. Minister Solá – who had recently attended the G20 foreign affairs ministers’ meeting in Italy – stressed his country’s difficulties in obtaining sufficient vaccines.
The Grand Chancellor reiterated the Order of Malta’s position – presented in every possible forum – for an equitable distribution of vaccines: ‘the only route to take if we want to finally overcome this dramatic period’.
Minister Felipe Carlos Solá thanked the Order of Malta and its Argentine association for the help given to the poorest sections of the population in this difficult period.
Among the other issues discussed was the situation in Central America, with particular reference to Venezuela and migration flows.
The meeting was attended by the Argentine ambassador to the Sovereign Order of Malta, Maria Fernanda Silva, and the Order’s Secretary General for Foreign Affairs, Stefano Ronca.
