The Rome 2009 World Swimming Championships will kick off on 17 July. This most impressive event in the history of aquatic sports will host some 2,800 athletes, with two thousand spectators expected to throng the terraces over the two weeks of competitions.
The medical and first-aid services during the entire World Championships will be guaranteed by the joint action of two specialised bodies, the Order of Malta’s Italian Emergency Corps and the Italian Red Cross.
The Order of Malta will be installed in the Foro Italico in Rome with a strategic placement of units to support the entire corps of doctors, paramedics and ambulances.
