The Order of Malta’s relief service for humanitarian aid, Malteser International, will bid farewell to Johannes Freiherr Heereman, and welcome Thierry de Beaumont-Beynac as its new president.

Beaumont-Beynac, 59, is also president of Ordre de Malte France, and was elected to the presidency of Malteser International at the organisation’s last General Assembly. “My goal is to strengthen and further develop Malteser International­ with help from regional branches in Europe and Africa, on the American continent and soon in the Asian-Pacific area, in carrying out its mission: to aid people in need worldwide”, he said, adding “Malteser International should be able to react even faster and become more efficient in order to bring help to people suffering from natural disasters or conflicts.
