During the Infantile Tuberculosis Prevention Day, Malteser International organized role playing, singing and dancing in Yei to teach children how to recognize and prevent tuberculosis and sleeping sickness, two of the most frequent diseases in Southern Sudan.
Each child received a kit consisting of a t-shirt and folder with educational material, provided by the Cologne archdiocese.
To improve the population’s health, Malteser International has a programme in place to fight sleeping sickness, leprosy and tuberculosis through diagnosis, treatment and health education. The Order’s international relief service has been working since 1997 in Yei, devastated by countless years of civil war.
