Malteser International team on the ground today
The quake, measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale, struck in the early hours of this morning near the city of Yogyakarta on the southern coast of Java, killing and injuring many thousands.
A Malteser International team, already working in Indonesia, will arrive in Jakarta today, as the local airport is closed, and make their way to the disaster area to assess damage and the needs of the afflicted. More information as it comes to hand.
