It is called ‘Family House’ and it aims to become a fundamental point of reference for women who are victims of domestic violence and their children. Malteser International’s family guidance centre in the province of Talara, in north eastern Perù, has been recently inaugurated in cooperation with the Order of Malta’s Peruvian association.

The service is offered to the women by the Order’s volunteer psychologists and to the children by entertainers. It includes information sessions and group therapy for the mothers, as well as drama therapy and play activities for the children who have been victims or witnesses of violence.
