The Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta, Fra’ John Dunlap, received today at the Magistral Palace the President of the Republic of Paraguay, Santiago Peña Palacios.

The President expressed particular appreciation for the excellent relations between the Order of Malta and Paraguay, established in 1951, and for the Order’s activities in his country. The President, who described his recently initiated mandate, expressed his intention to strengthen his country’s relations with the Order of Malta, mainly through the implementation of health initiatives.

To this end, it was agreed that a bilateral cooperation agreement should be signed to facilitate the development and application of joint projects, in particular in the public health sector.

To conclude, the President of Paraguay invited the Grand Master to visit Paraguay.

Rubén Ramírez Lezcano, Foreign Minister of Paraguay, was present at the meeting.
