The Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta Fra’ John Dunlap visited the Military Corps of the Association of Italian Knights of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta on Saturday, 11 November.

On the occasion of the “Health Support Operation 2023” exercise in the Artale della Cecchignola barracks in Rome, the Grand Master was present at the deployment and operation of the Military Corps’ Field Medical Unit, witnessing a rescue simulation by the specialised “Tactical First Responder” medical team.

At the end of the visit, Fra’ John Dunlap had the opportunity to visit the Historical Museum of the Military Corps, which collects objects and photographs of the relief activity carried out by the Military Corps from 1909 to the present day.

The Military Corps of the Association of the Italian Knights of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta is a Special Auxiliary Corps of the Italian Army, whose purpose is to cooperate with the Italian Army in carrying out medical relief activities in circumstances of war, public calamity and emergency, both within the national territory and during humanitarian and peacekeeping missions outside the national territory.
