Talks took place at the Magistral Palace in Rome on 10 October between the Foreign Minister of Paraguay Rubén Ramírez Lezcano and the Grand Chancellor Riccardo Paternò di Montecupo.

The cooperation provided by the Order of Malta in Paraguay, in particular in the field of health; the situation and social challenges in South America, in the light of the devastating effects of the Covid-19 pandemic; the country’s needs with regard to the treatment of mental disorders, were among the topics discussed during the meeting.

The possibility of signing a bilateral cooperation agreement to increase and facilitate the Order of Malta’s medical and social work in the country was also discussed.

Actions to be implemented in the cultural field to celebrate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations in the near future were also discussed.
