Yesterday, the Lieutenant of the Grand Master, Fra’ Marco Luzzago, received Pietro Sebastiani, Italian Ambassador to the Sovereign Order of Malta. During the meeting in the Magistral Palace, Fra’ Marco Luzzago stressed the importance of relations with the Italian Republic and expressed his sincere gratitude for the numerous forms of cooperation existing in the health, social and civil-protection sectors.
The Lieutenant of the Grand Master then illustrated the key points of the Order of Malta’s constitutional reform, launched in 2017.
A focus of the meeting was the pandemic and future prospects; the Lieutenant of the Grand Master and Ambassador Sebastiani both hoped that, once available, the vaccine would reach the weaker sections of society. Also discussed was the Holy Father’s encyclical Laudato sì and the urgent need for humanity to become more aware of the vital necessity to respect the environment.
Ambassador Stefano Ronca, Secretary General for Foreign Affairs and the Order of Malta’s ambassador to the Italian Republic participated in the talks.
