The Order of Malta’s Secretary General for Foreign Affairs, Amb. Stefano Ronca, received Víctor Lagos Pizzati, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of El Salvador on 9th October in the Magistral Palace.

During the talks, the 70 years of cooperation in the health and social sectors were discussed and especially the eight medical centres the Order of Malta’s Salvadoran association runs countrywide, providing healthcare to some 130,000 patients without financial means.

Deputy Minister Lagos Pizzati described the problem posed by the reception of Salvadoran migrants returning to the country. Amb. Stefano Ronca said the Order of Malta offered to provide mental and general healthcare to help their reintegration in the social fabric.
