On 16 May 2001, in the Magistral Palace in Rome, His Most Eminent Highness, the Prince and Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, fra’ Andrew Bertie, granted solemn audience to the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Peru, H.E., Alberto Montagne Vidal for the presentation of letters of credence by which he will be accredited to the Sovereign Order.

Recalling his visit to Peru, where an important Co-operation Agreement was signed, the Grand Master pointed out that such Agreement contributed to enhancing the relationships with the Sovereign Order. Furthermore, the Grand Master pointed out the great efforts made by the Peruvian government in achieving the economic and civil development of the population.

He also highlighted the important role played by the new Ambassador in Peru that is a point of reference for all Latin America.
