The Order of Malta’s Grand Chancellor Riccardo Paternò di Montecupo received the Secretary General of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Amb. Riccardo Guariglia.
During the meeting, on 23 October at the Magistral Palace, a bilateral agreement was signed between the Italian Republic and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta for entering the Order of Malta’s Italian Relief Corps (CISOM) in the Register Unico Nazionale Italiano del Terzo Settore. The signature of the agreement, which will enter into force upon completion of the internal ratification procedures of both parties, will guarantee CISOM the necessary requirements for further cooperation with the Italian Public Administration and increase its general-interest services in Italy.
The Grand Chancellor expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Guariglia for the Italian Republic’s “invaluable support it continues to give the Order of Malta’s institutional and humanitarian activities and its territorial entities”.
Present at the meeting was Francesco Di Nitto, Italian Ambassador to the Order of Malta, Stefano Ronca, the Order of Malta’s Ambassador to Italy and Benedetto Barberini, Extraordinary Delegate of the CISOM Foundation.
