Myanmar: a year after massacres, Rohingya refugees still facing desperation

Malteser International teams are still on the ground in Bangladesh Rajuma is only 30 years old, but has endured the most unimaginable horrors. The ethnic Rohingya woman from Myanmar was a survivor of a brutal massacre that occurred in her village, Tula Toli on August 30, 2017.

Grand Master at 35th International Summer Camp for the disabled urges guests to be brave

“Be courageous, we have to be brave to welcome those who suffer and those who are strangers to us”. With these encouraging words, the Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta Fra’ Giacomo Dalla Torre del Tempio di Sanguinetto addressed the participants of the Order of Malta’s 35th International Summer Camp for young disabled, on 15 August.

Greek doctors sent an urgent request to the Order of Malta in Germany for humanitarian aid and medicines for the victims of the wildfires that have devastated areas around Athens, causing at least 85 deaths with many people still missing and hundreds injured.

Aquarius Migrants, Order of Malta’s Medical Team on Dattilo: “In their eyes the hope for a better future”

Yesterday morning, Maria Rita Agliozzo and Marika Giustiniani, health professionals with the Order of Malta’s Italian Relief Corps, disembarked from the ship Dattilo in the port of Valencia. Last Tuesday they had embarked on the Coast Guard ship in Pozzallo to assist the 629 migrants arriving from the Libyan coast and saved at sea by the search and rescue operations of the SOS Méditerranée.
